We are hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Non-Medical Transportation Driver, a dual-impact role that supports individuals both at home and on the road.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $17.00 per hour
- Service Areas: Lucas & Wood County
- Residential Location: TBD
- Split NMT Driving Schedule (Mon–Fri):
7:00 AM – 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Every Other Weekend Residential DSP Shifts (Your Choice):
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
What You’ll Do
- Safely transport clients to and from home, adult day services, appointments, work sites, and community activities
- Supervise clients during transport and ensure safe loading and unloading
- Maintain a clean, sanitary vehicle and complete daily inspections
- Maintain transportation records and communicate with staff and team leaders
- Follow all Ohio DODD, county board, and transportation regulations, including mandated reporting
- Provide respectful, person-centered support with daily living tasks
- Assist with personal care needs, including ambulation, bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Engage individuals in social, recreational, and community activities
- Prepare meals and assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organization
- Encourage personal growth, independence, and achievement of individual goals
- Accurately document activities, incidents, and client progress
- Communicate professionally with team members, families, and clients
- Participate in required paid training sessions and team meetings
Qualifications You Need to Thrive
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Safe driving record (no more than six points)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition individuals up to 50 lbs
- Ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks, physical exam, and drug screen
- CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained after hire)
